Nagoya in Madison: My Go-To Japanese Restaurant

If you are looking for a good Japanese restaurant near Clinton, Mississippi, Nagoya in Madison is one of my favorite places to recommend. For our family, Nagoya is the kind of restaurant that feels reliable: the food is consistently good, the service is friendly, and the price feels reasonable for the quality and portion.
Nagoya is located in Madison at 111 Colony Crossing, Suite 380, and it offers both sushi and hibachi. That makes it a good choice when different people in the group want different things — someone may want sushi rolls, someone may want grilled meat or seafood, and someone else may just want a comforting plate of fried rice or hibachi vegetables. Nagoya also offers online ordering and pickup, which is convenient for busy families.
Why I Recommend It
What I appreciate about Nagoya is that it offers a nice balance of taste, variety, service, and value. Sometimes eating out as a family can get expensive quickly, especially when everyone wants something different. Nagoya has a large enough menu that most people can find something they like, and the food feels satisfying without feeling overpriced.
Online reviews also seem to echo this experience. Some reviewers specifically praise the sushi and mention repeat favorites such as the Nagoya Roll, Rainbow Roll, Crunchy Shrimp, and Dynamite Roll. Others mention fresh sashimi, good service, and a full hibachi-style meal with soup, salad, fried rice, and entrée.
What to Order
1. Baked Salmon Roll
This is one of our family’s favorite dishes at Nagoya — even my four-year-old loves it. In fact, she can finish a whole order by herself! It is rich, warm, flavorful, and very satisfying. If you enjoy salmon and like sushi rolls with a baked, comforting flavor, this is a great one to try, especially for families with children who may prefer something warm and familiar rather than raw sushi.
2. Yellowtail Neck Grill
I also highly recommend the Yellowtail Neck Grill. The menu description I found describes yellowtail neck as a tender part of the fish, grilled to perfection. It has a nice grilled flavor and feels different from the usual sushi roll orders. If you enjoy grilled fish, this is worth trying.

3. Nagoya Roll
Since it carries the restaurant’s name, I think the Nagoya Roll is also a good choice. It is flavorful, filling, and a nice option if you want a special roll beyond the basics. It is also one of the rolls mentioned positively by online reviewers.
Other Good Reasons to Try Nagoya
Good variety: Nagoya is not only a sushi place. It also has hibachi, appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, grilled items, and different rolls, which makes it easier to go with family or friends who may have different preferences.
Good for groups: Because the menu includes both sushi and hibachi, it is a practical choice for a casual family dinner, friends’ gathering, or a meal with people who are not all sushi lovers.
Convenient location: Madison is a reasonable drive from Clinton, and the Colony Crossing area is familiar to many local families.
Reasonable value: Based on my own experience and other online comments, Nagoya feels like a place where the price and portion make sense, especially compared with many sit-down restaurants today.
Nagoya is a good choice for:
Families who want a comfortable Japanese dinner
Friends meeting for lunch or dinner
Sushi lovers looking for good rolls near Clinton/Jackson/ Madison
People who want both sushi and hibachi options
Busy families who may want online ordering or pickup
Anyone looking for good food, good service, and reasonable prices
